What is ECET2 Southcentral? An Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers (ECET2) grant was received from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation to bring together exceptional teachers in our region. The purpose of this grant is to provide a convening for exceptional teachers to learn from one another and to celebrate the teaching profession. ECET2 convenings are events created by teachers for teachers. They harness the power of teacher leader networks to deepen learning, improve the teaching profession, and better serve students. In 2016, there was a statewide convening. And this year, there will be convenings in Southcentral, Interior, and Southeast! The Southcentral convening will host teachers from KPBSD, Yakutat, Cordova, Valdez, Chugach District and Copper River Districts! Save the Dates! October 26th-27th The first regional convening will be held October 26-27 at Kenai Central High School. Teachers will participate in an opening session on Friday evening and then a full day session on Saturday. The conference costs will be supported by grant funds. This will include travel and lodging expenses for your participants.
